Is Dressing Your Chickens In Woolly Jumpers Ever A Good Idea?

I do recognize that some people make/use these with genuinely good intentions (ie, they think there is a real need because a chicken has no feathers) - so I'm not trying to criticize kindness here - just to make the point that there is never a need, and there are in fact many risks.

There's a wealth of information available online for suitable environmental management for partially feathered chickens (usually ex-intensively-farmed hens) in a period of extreme cold, putting knitted garments on them isn't part of the solution.
